Beyonce and Jay-Z’s little girl is being credited for convincing her grandmother Tina Knowles to marry for a second time. According Tina, Blue Ivy Carter was the one who prompted her and her long-time beau Richard Lawson to get hitched.
She explains in an exclusive interview with People magazine,”[In September] we went on a boat with Beyoncé and Jay Z and when we came out one night dressed to go to dinner, Blue said, ‘Oh, y’all look beautiful. When are y’all getting married?'”
The 61-year-old ended up marrying Richard aboard a yacht in Newport Beach, California, on April 12, surrounded by friends and family, including her daughters Solange and Beyoncé and their husbands, Jay Z and Alan Ferguson.
“It couldn’t have been more perfect,” says Tina.
Knowles decided to wear all white on her wedding because “it was important to me to have a wedding and walk in white, because sometimes we feel that at a certain age you should act a certain way,” she says. “You can find love at any age. You just have to go for it.”
Grandkids Blue Ivy, 3, and Julez (Solange’s 10-year-old son), who also wore white, were the flower girl and ring bearer.
