Taraji P. Henson is a protective mother who is fair. The ‘Empire’ actress issued an apology to the Glendale police department after footage of her son’s controversial traffic stop was released earlier this week.
“I would like to publicly apologize to the officer and the Glendale Police Department,” shared the star on Instagram. “A mother’s job is not easy and neither is a police officer’s. Sometimes as humans we overreact without gathering all the facts. As a mother in this case, I overreacted and for that I apologize.Thank you to that officer for being kind to my son.”
Taraji originally accused the department of racial profiling her son, Marcel, after he informed her of a traffic stop in which the officer did not ticket him for the violation that he was accused of committing. Henson, however, was not aware of the details surrounding the case at the time.
