Great news! Mo’ne Davis is getting her own Disney Channel movie called Throw Like Mo. The star athlete shared her excitement about the film with media earlier this week.
“There are so many great things happening to me right now and it’s a very exciting time in my life,” said Mo’ne. “A year ago, I never would have thought that Disney Channel would make a movie about me. I can’t wait to get started and I hope it will encourage other viewers to believe that dreams really do come true.”
It was just a few days ago that Make a Difference Everyday (M4D3) announced its partnership with Davis to bring about the teen’s custom-made sneakers. Proceeds from shoe sales will serve to benefit the ‘Because I Am A Girl’ initiative.
“I never thought at the age of 13 I’d be a role model, but having young girls look up to me is pretty cool,” said Mo’ne at the time of her sneakers’ launching. “Designing shoes with M4D3 is exciting and I wanted them to support Because I am a Girl to help girls and give them a chance at a better future.”
Mo’ne’s film is currently in the developmental stages. You can expect to see the teen’s movie make its debut on the Disney Channel in coming months.
