Kevin Hart is fun but firm. The actor tells PEOPLE that he maintains a balance between adventure and discipline when rearing his kids.
“I’m a fun dad until you don’t do what you’re supposed to,” says the star. However, “even the tough dad is still fun because I can’t not laugh at myself for trying to be tough!”
Fans saw how resilient Kevin could be a few weeks ago, when Heaven and Hendrix tried to keep the tip that he had given them to hand over to the valet person. “Tip him,” said Kevin to Heaven who was holding the money in her hand. “Don’t you remember you owe us $100,” replied the little one to her father. Heaven did eventually give the valet his due.
Such obedience is why Kevin says that he doesn’t have to be too hard on his kids. “I have kids who don’t try to challenge me that much and respect me to the point where they listen,” shares the star with PEOPLE. “They’re not at those teenage years yet where we’re going to battle. They’re 9 and 7. So I got some time. I got a little bit of time.”
