Congratulations to Robert Griffin III and wife Rebecca on the expectancy of their first child. The Washington ‘Redskins’ player announced his wife’s pregnancy by way of Twitter on Thursday.
“BIG Thank You for making this Birthday a Special Day!!! This year’s gift will change Our life forever!!! #BoyOrGirl,” captioned Robert underneath a picture of himself kissing Rebecca’s stomach. The NFL star was also celebrating his 25th birthday.
Griffin suffered an ankle injury last year that took him off the field for a short period of time. The quarterback, however, returned before the season ended, and played fairly well with the help of his teammates and staff. “[They] really helped me be smart about what I’m doing with my ankle,” said Robert of his staff. “This isn’t little league football. You’re going to play with some pain. And I’m to the point where I’ve rehabbed it enough and I feel good going out there and I feel like I can be myself.”
Robert and Rebecca wed on July 6, 2013. They are expecting their bundle of joy to arrive in coming months.
