At 20 years old, Corrine Foxx has a lot going on, including stepping out of her father’s shadow and into her very own limelight. The University of Southern California student, studying both public relations and cinema, is about to graduate and, in an exclusive with Nylon magazine, she revealed that she has some big plans for what’s next.
Corrine has just begun a modelling career, and would like to launch an acting career. However, she wants to do it right. After years of accompanying her award-winning father, Jamie Foxx, on the red carpet, Corrine is cautious not to fall into the “daughter-of” trap.
“I don’t want it to be like ‘I’m so-and-so’s daughter, give me a movie,'” she explained. “I didn’t want to get into acting unless I was trained, and I want to feel confident in my ability to perform before I do.” The statement is an example of her maturity, a tell-tale sign that she is an up-and-comer to watch. Corrine added that her passion for acting comes from the thrill of losing one self in a scene. “It’s an adrenaline rush,” she said.
Corrine is Jamie’s eldest daughter, with a younger sister, Annalise who is only five years old.
