The first family attended the 33rd ‘Christmas in Washington’ concert at the National Building Museum in Washington D.C. this past Sunday.
President and First Lady Obama took pictures with several children who were dressed as elves for the event. Sasha and Malia Obama also interacted with the kids who benefited from the charity concert.
Every year the Children’s National Health System receives support from generous contributions given at the ‘Christmas in Washington’ concert. This year was no different as several individuals and organizations donated to the organization.
Celebrities from near and far were also in attendance at the ‘Christmas in Washington’ show. Dwayne Johnson from The Fast and Furious film sequel came out to support and serve as host of the event. President Obama had profound words about the spirit of the season telling attendees, “Jesus lived a life of peace, love, kindness and forgiveness.”
The Obamas have welcomed the White House Christmas tree and participated in several charitable efforts since the holiday season began several weeks ago. This will be the sixth year that the family celebrates Christmas in the White House.
