Kimora Lee Simmons is a fierce business woman and doting mom. The entrepreneur tells Ahlan! about her life as a thriving fashion star and mother of three.
“I love my kids,” exclaims Kimora. “They’re definitely the best thing that has ever happened to me! It’s also the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. To anyone who says ‘it’s so easy for you,’ it wasn’t really easy, it took a long time. But I absolutely love my kids; they’re all really wonderful and they have amazing personalities.”
Although she thoroughly enjoys motherhood, Simmons also has a driving passion for fashion that helps her reach new heights and greater depths in the industry. “I think the idea for me is that fashion is my business and I have a great team and this is what I have always wanted to do since I was a baby,” says the star. “I have a billion dollar brand, I had even started a brand no one wanted, I’ve been through the rise and the fall but it’s all part of the process.”
Simmons further explains, “Having children kind of adds to that, especially now-a-days it’s about the working woman, the working mother, women who are juggling different roles in their lives. Even though you really want to stay home and take care of your kids you also want to be dynamic and independent.”
