USA Today recently got the opportunity to have an exclusive interview with Trevor Jackson, during which he was asked a series of “A or B?” type questions, so as to allow the readers to get to know him a little better. The answers dictate what type of person he is, what things he likes, and what things mean the most to him.
Even Trevor was surprised by some of the questions – and answers! When asked if he could be sure not to get caught, if he would would commit a crime, Trevor exclaimed, “Oh wow! That’s a great question; I might learn something about myself off this answer.” He then admitted, he’d find a way to switch his income with Bill Gates.
The young star was also asked about his dream musical collaboration, to which Trevor responded with a combination of alive and passed on artists: Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Rascal Flatts, Michael Jackson, Ray Charles and Donny Hathaway.
Throughout the course of the interview, Trevor revealed that he is a natural at sports, his favourite fast food joints, that he believes the word “swag” is overused, and that his biggest pet peeve is insecurity. “I don’t get that”, he explained. “We were all made the way we’re gonna be so just get past that and do you!” Such wise-words coming from this 17-year-old overachiever.
The singer, dancer, actor, and writer is very excited about his upcoming album, set for release by the end of the year. He boasted:
I can’t even lie; this album is gonna be so different from what anyone has heard from an artist. Every song is really close to me. I feel like I’ve got songs that force you to pay attention to the words and you’ll get it. When we have the album release party I want it to be in a movie theater that’s pitch black so people really focus on what’s being said. I just really focused on making every record “that one!” I’m just really blessed and thankful to be doing what I’m doing and I know it’s something that all of my fans will really enjoy.
Trevor told USA Today that he is still working on the title for this highly anticipated album. With all the hype surrounding it, it’s sure to be something special.
