This week Celebrity Wife Swap featured the family of former Major League Baseball outfielder, David Justice
. After 14 years as a professional sports player, David and his family have certainly become accustomed to a particular lifestyle – lavish. Meanwhile, award-winning musician Dweezil Zappa (son of rock legend of Frank Zappa), has used his success to promote a greener lifestyle. So when the two wives switched homes, they were both completely overwhelmed.
David Justice and his wife, Rebecca, share three children who, as it turns out, are quite privileged. However, after her experience in the eco-friendly, no-cell-zone, home of the Zappa’s, Rebecca and David become more sensitive to the issues that may result from their children’s lack of responsibility. Although the wives had it out at the table meet, the husbands were rather receptive to the other points-of-view. Since the show, the Justice’s (who were happy to begin with) have found that there are ways to improve their family life. David is spending more time with all of the children, and they have even kept some chore assignments. Meanwhile the Zappas learned from the Justices that it’s okay to be a little more relaxed sometimes. They allowed their daughter to keep the cell phone given to her by Rebecca.
It just goes to show that family life is anything but static. Even if you’re a celebrity, there is always room for growth – amongst parents and children alike.
