Young stars such as Carlon Jeffrey, Nadji Jeter, Tylen Williams, Kennedy Mcculough and Trevor Jackson attended the fifth annual Spotlight on Success Talent Show on Saturday, May 13th.
Hosted by Nick Cannon, the event brings together thousands of celebrities from the Los Angeles Unified School District (L.A.U.S.D.) as teen talents compete in the nation’s biggest talent show, Spotlight on Success. It is presented by L.A.U.S.D. in conjunction with Celebrity High magazine, the premier local teen lifestyle magazine, and Beyond the Bell which offers after school programs for nearly 600 L.A. schools. As such, it is responsible in aiding the L.A. youth to nurture their academic, social and personal skills, all while gaining self-esteem.
In a show of support for the city’s youth, many young stars made it out to present awards and even give guest performances. This year the event attendees included: Lil Mama, host of America’s Best Dance Crew; Orlando Brown of That’s So Raven; Dj Young Slade, son of rapper Lil Jon and so much more.
As CEO of Celebrity High magazine which offers youth targeted on and off-campus entertainment programming, Nick Cannon spoke highly of the event and his role in it, stating, “It allows the kids the opportunity to expose their star qualities on a large scale and empowers them to continue pursuing their dreams, and ultimately to strive to become celebrities in their communities through their leadership skills and artistic expression.”
