Mother’s Day is a special time for Tia Mowry-Hardrict. The actress tells Essence that the fondest memory of her son comes from her first meeting with baby Cree.
“One of my favorite Mother’s Day memories is my first Mother’s Day,” says Tia. “I felt so blessed. It was as simple as just holding him and looking into his eyes and realizing, ‘Wow. I am a mom.'”
Although she has been a parent longer than her twin sister, Tia says that she learns a lot from Tamera’s relationship with little Aden. “I’ve learned several things from her about motherhood and just parenting [like] it’s OK to hear your child cry,” explains the star. “I’m the type of person where of my son just cries for 30 seconds I’m like, ‘Okay, just bring him in the room with us.’ My sister, she’s one of those moms where if a pacifier drops on the floor, she’s not neurotic about it.”
Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 11, 2014. Tia and husband Cory Hardrict have one child together.
