NBA player Daniel Gibson and singer Keyshia Cole have hit a rough patch in their marriage but, regardless of the circumstances, the estranged couple manages to put their son first. Keyshia recently sat down with the ‘Breakfast Club’ to talk about her relationship with Daniel Sr., and made sure to tell listeners that her son’s dad was a great parent.
“We co-parent,” said Cole. “He’s a great father. At 8:30am he comes to take DJ to school every morning. I pick up him up and we good.”
Keyshia also talked about her maturity level, which has grown since becoming a mother and turning 30-years-old. “I’ve grown a lot,” explained the singer. “I’m 30. Ain’t the same way I used to do it. Take my anger out and just go ahead and approach you and do something about it…. I’m a mother. Whatever I do from here on out, I want my son to be proud of.”
Cole refrained from answering specific questions about the status of her and Daniel Sr.’s relationship, telling the ‘Breakfast Club’ that only time will tell if she and the NBA star are meant to be. “I’d just like to avoid questions like that for my son’s sake,” said the artist. “We’ll know [if the relationship will last] as the time goes by. No matter how much I dislike this man, it will never be to the point where he can’t see his son. Period.”
