“All You can do is love your children.” That’s what Cynthia Bailey says when discussing the last episode of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta,’ where she was brought to tears after being criticized by NeNe Leakes for allowing Noelle to date at the age of thirteen.
“My mother did not have all the right answers when she was raising me, and neither do I,” says Bailey. “All you can do is love your children and keep the communication open so that they feel confident coming to you for support and guidance. I am confident in my decision to allow ‘parentally supervised’ dating for my 14-year-old. It may not work for everyone, but it works for us. I stand firm in my decision, and will continue to do so until I feel otherwise.”
Bailey came under fire a few weeks ago when good friend NeNe Leakes told her that she starkly disagreed with her decision to allow her teen daughter to date. “Cynthia is very clear on where I stand about teenage dating (13-year-old dating to be exact),” wrote NeNe in a blog post after the show. “I think it’s too young, and I won’t be changing my opinion EVER! Not for Cynthia, not for you, not for anybody.”
Although the two still disagree, Cynthia tells fans that she and Leakes are in a good place. “I don’t have an issue with anyone disagreeing with me (as I know I am not always right) and having an opinion. We all have an opinion, and should stand firm on what we feel and believe.”
Noelle is Bailey’s daughter with actor, Leon Robinson.
