Shaunie O’Neal and her kids may get more than a little exposure when their reality show debuts in a few months. That’s right! The ‘Basketball Wives’ creator is working on a new show, ‘The Shaunie Project,’ that will focus more on her family and less on the drama that is stardom. The reality star has already begun filming with her kids and hopes to show the more wholesome side of celebrity life, which includes running a 5K marathon with her sweets.
Although VH1 is on board with the idea and has given the green light for filming and production, Shaunie’s ex-huband, Shaquille O’Neal, is not so thrilled about his children being at the forefront of Reality TV madness. The former NBA star has allegedly moved to prevent Shaunie from showcasing the kids on the show, expressing fears that producers will bring out the worst in the family. TMZ reports, “Shaunie has tried convincing Shaq that her show is just like ‘The Cosby Show’– good, wholesome, family fun…[But] he’s convinced the show will end up showcasing a dysfunctional family that will hurt his kids, some of whom are already struggling in school. Shaq believes no good can come from cameras in the home.”
What do you think about Shaunie having a reality show of her own? Is Shaq right in saying that no good can come from cameras in the home? Share your thoughts below.
