It was just a few days ago that 7-year-old Taalib Pecantte was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting, and now Jayceon Taylor, a.k.a. The Game, is taking action. The rapper recently vowed to help the family of the victim by donating more than $10,000 for burial services.
“I was going to do it all myself, but I figured since it was Christmas, I’d bring some of my friends in and that had a snowball effect and by the end of the day, we raised $17,000 between myself, Kevin Hart, Deshawn Jackson from the Philadelphia Eagles, who’s a hometown kid, and then a host of my friends,” said the rapper to ABC. “I feel better about giving to people and helping their struggles than I do getting on a stage in front of a crowd of 10,000.”
This isn’t the first time that Mr. Taylor has contributed to those in need. The rapper gave several unsuspecting bystanders upwards of $50 a few months ago, telling Twitter fans that positively contributing to society was very rewarding.
Taalib Pecantte was fatally wounded on Monday (December 2) when a car pulled up and opened fire at a park in mid-city Los Angeles. The Game has three kids in all.
