Vin Diesel is officially a Hollywood great as he was given a star on the Walk of Fame this past Monday. The actor was surrounded by fans, local media, and family as he accepted one of Holloywood’s most honorable rewards for his hard work and diligence that dates back to the early 1990s. Diesel’s two kids and girlfriend Paloma Jiminez smiled from ear-to-ear as fellow actors doted on Diesel. Fast & Furious co-star Michelle Rodriguez said, “I love this guy. He looks at the impossible and says, ‘When do we start?'”
Diesel talked about his struggles with breaking into the industry as a youngster because of his cultural background that consists of African American ancestry. “When I was in my mother’s stomach, it was still illegal in parts of America for people of color and white people to procreate,” said the actor. “Everyone had known me just as a bouncer in New York because I wasn’t able to get any work. There was something too ambiguous about the way I looked that would prevent me from ever getting a star. [But] as my daughter says, ‘Dreams do come true,'” explained the celeb.
Vin Diesel became a hit at the turn of the century when he starred as Dominic in the Fast & Furious. The actor has since played in several films, including the Disney hit, The Pacifier.
