Namiko Browner strikes a pose with dad after delivering a superb performance at her first dance recital. The little one gives the cameras lots of attitude as she places her left hand on her hip while holding up two fingers. O’Ryan expressed nothing but excitement for his daughter who danced like an angel a few moments before taking the candid tweeting, “So proud of you today Namiko.”
Namiko stood center stage as she glided and twirled to the lyrics of ‘Beautiful’ by Christina Aguilera for a crowd of overjoyed supporters. The little one was joined by her fellow dancers who also did a wonderful job in conveying the song’s meaning to audience members. Proud mom Jhene Aiko shared a video of her daughter in action with Instagram fans tweeting, “My Nami Love’s first ballet recital,” beside it.
Aiko recently discussed the transformation that motherhood has brought forth with Complex magazine, saying, “When I was younger, my mom managed me. I didn’t want to be a part of business decisions. As an adult with a daughter, it’s important for me to make those decisions for myself. I can’t let anyone else control what’s being put out there for my audience.”
Jhene also talked about her image that has become more mature over the years, telling Complex that who she is perceived to be reflects where she is in life at the present. “The image hasn’t really changed, I have,” explained Aiko. “Time has changed me. I’m less afraid to do and talk about certain things because, as an adult, I’m doing adult things. I’m all about being comfortable, and I am comfortable with showing skin. I accept my body. I am comfortable with having sex appeal. As a mom, I’m honest with my daughter; I lead by example and try not to shelter her. I was never afraid to show that I was a girl with a flirty, sexy side.”
Namiko is Jhene Aiko and O’Ryan’s only child together.
