Kym Whitley and her son, Joshua, are taking a stand for justice and partnering with supporters of Trayvon Martin to do it. The actress and her tot recently shared a candid of themselves wearing t-shirts that supported petitions and protests for Trayvon with Instagram fans. The mother of one held crossed fingers high while her son grabbed her mouth.
Kym is one among many celebs to partner with the ‘One Million People United For Change’ movement, which seeks to rid the country of laws that inadvertently support racism. Jamie Foxx, Jay-Z, and Zena Foster are three of many stars to raise their voices in support of the movement that began after George Zimmerman was found not guilty in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. Trayvon was headed to a family friend’s house on February 26, 2012 when he was sought out and eventually killed by Zimmerman.
Whitley and her son are featured every week on their reality show, ‘Raising Whitley,’ via OWN’s network. Joshua is Kym’s first child.
