Lailaa Williams is absolutely, positively in love with Russia, The little one recently expressed her delight with the country during a documentary segment centered around her mom, Candace Parker. Lailaa told the cameras “I love Russia,” as mom laughed at her preschooler who is learning the language of the country at a quicker pace than most adults.
“My daughter’s in an all-Russian school so she’s learning [to speak the language] probably faster than me, a little bit,” said Candace during the segment. “I’ve been in mommy mode since I’ve been a professional but it is tough in a foreign country. I don’t have a lot of help. So it’s Lailaa and I, but she’s an amazing kid and she makes it pretty easy,” the ballplayer further stated.
Candace and her husband, Shelden Williams, have been countries apart since deciding to play basketball overseas. While she shoots hoops and mothers in Russia, he plays ball in France. Although Parker has admitted to giving up a lot of quality time with her husband because of the current living arrangements, she and Shelden talk often via social media and believe that their sacrifices today will give Lailaa more opportunities in the future.
Lailaa celebrated her fourth birthday on Tuesday (May 13) with mom by her side. She is now 4-years-old, and the first child between Candace and Shelden.
