Holly Robinson-Peete and the entire family joined the masses in celebrating Jackie Robinson on April 15, 2013. Holly sported blue and white wear while her kids rocked Dodgers’ jerseys at the special night set aside at Dodgers Stadium for the remarkable player who changed the face of baseball.
Rodney Jr., Roman, and Robinson were able to experience a bit of history as they snapped a picture with Rachel Robinson, the widow of Jackie. Holly was both honored and overjoyed to capture the moment as she tweeted, “At #JackieRobinson night @dodgers stadium with the Stunning Rachel Robinson #honored Kids psyched!”
For four years, the MLB has honored Jackie Robinson by asking all players to wear his jersey number, 42, on April 15th. The league memorialized the ball player on April 15, 2011, marking the 64th Anniversary of Jackie breaking baseball’s color barrier.
Jackie Robinson was the first African American to play major league baseball in 1947. Holly and Rodney Peete Sr. have four kids together.
