On the crux of a new film and other publicity, Angela Bassett couldn’t help but talk about twins Slater and Bronwyn who turned 7-years-old earlier this week. The actress recently visited Katie Couric where she talked about her upcoming film, Betty & Coretta, and gushed about her sweethearts.
Bassett totally doted on Slater and Bronwyn during her interview segment telling Couric, “[They] are great. They are smart, They are charismatic, they are charming .I just pray everyday to be a better and better mother for them.”
The actress also talked about her role as Coretta Scott-King in Betty & Coretta, characterizing it as one that is close to her heart. Bassett will act alongside Mary J. Blige who will portray the role of Dr. Betty Shabazz, wife of Malcom X, in the motion picture that gives insight into the lives of the women behind the men who wrote a new page in American history.
Betty & Coretta will premiere on February 2, 2013 at 8/7c via Lifetime’s network in honor of Black History Month. Slater and Bronwyn are Angela and husband Courtney B. Vance’s kids.
