Nene Leakes is a glam girl who plans to pass the tradition on to her children’s children. The ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star recently talked about her experience as a grandmother with Essence saying, “I have a glam-baby. Let’s be correct, now. I’m way too young and too fabulous to be a grandma. I’m a glam-mom.”
Unfortunately the glam-mom doesn’t get to see her glam-daughter often because of work. “I haven’t been around [my son and his family] that much because I’ve been out here in Los Angeles working. Whenever I get a chance to fly home, I get the baby from them,” said the reality television star.
Although happy for her son and his growing family now, Nene admitted that at first she had her doubts about Bryson settling down so fast. “I was young when I had Bryson… we were at the same age. I was 21 years old having him,” said Leakes. “At first I wasn’t happy about it, when I heard she was pregnant. I felt like they were young. This is a different time. I felt like they need to enjoy being young. I wanted him to be married. I also want my son to date a lot. So you can figure out what it is you like and don’t like in a woman. I didn’t want him to have children at an early age. We just love her to death. I can’t wait until she gets a little bit bigger, I have already introduced her to the Neiman Marcus kid’s department. She’s ready to go shopping at any time. I’m excited about piercing her ears and polishing her nails. I never had a girl and I’m excited about her.”
The grandma and mother of two is currently starring NBC’s The New Normal.
