On Sunday, while the world prepared to watch the BET Awards, Supermodel Cynthia Bailey of the Real Housewives of Atlanta watched kids from all over strut their stuff for an opportunity to model in the upcoming Runway Red Fashion Show.
The model call brought out model hopefuls from ages 5 to 17. Each child, chaperoned by one parent, had the opportunity to walk for the fashion great and her panel of judges, Charlene Bastien (Strength of Nature National Marketing Director/African Pride Dream Kids Hair Care) and runway coach Antoneo Lee (The Bailey Agency), to Willow Smith’s “Whip My Hair”. The Runway Red is a fashion gala hosted by the Show Me the Way Foundation in conjunction with African Pride Dream Kids. As part of their fundraising efforts for research for children infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS, the Show Me the Way Foundation collaborated with the Bailey Agency in the five-hour model search. Children showed up by the hundreds despite the 100+ temperatures and had a chance to speak to Cynthia face-to-face.
The Runway Red Safari Wonderland event takes place Saturday, August 11th, 2012. Red Carpet & VIP Reception are from 7– 8pm with the Fashion Gala at 8:15 – 9:15pm. You can purchase tickets for $20 for the event being hosted at the Historic Zoo Atlanta located at 800 Cherokee Avenue, S.E. Atlanta, GA. 30315.
