Siohvaughn Funches-Wade was sternly dealt with at a Cook County courthouse on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. The ex-wife of Dwyane Wade and mother of his two children, Zion,5, and Zaire,10, was told by Associate Judge Helaine Leslie Berger to keep the kids out of her quarrels with Miami Heat Player Dwyane Wade. “Read my lips on this – you tell the kids: ‘I got arrested, your dad got me arrested’ … I take away your visitation,” said Berger. “The children should not be in the middle of this,” the judge added.
Firm orders come after Funches allegedly overstepped her boundaries during a visitation by refusing to allow the children to be picked up by Wade’s sister. Siohvaughn was subsequently arrested and charged with resisting. Dwyane has since petitioned for supervised visits to take place in Florida instead of Chicago, and has asked the courts to transfer the case to Florida where he has sole custody of the boys.
The former couple divorced in 2010, with Wade getting custody of the boys in 2011.
