Comedian/actor Chris Rock, wife Malaak Compton-Rock, daughters Lola(b. June 28, 2002), Zahra(b. May 22, 2004) and their bonus daughter* attended the Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted New York premiere held on June 7, 2012 in New York City.
Chris, who voices the role of Marty the zebra in the animated film, recently joked that voicing the character was “the easiest job in the world.”
“I go in a booth and I say, ‘What’s the line?’ And a guy goes, ‘It’s time to go to the store.’ And then I say, ‘It’s time to go to the store !’ And then I go, ‘What’s the next line?’ ‘ It’s getting dark outside.’ So I go, ‘It’s getting dark outside!’
“…And then, they give me a million dollars !”
* The little girl in the middle is the daughter of a family friend from South Africa whom the Rocks adopted a few years ago.
