Corey Robinson,17, is a celebrated high school football player who will be playing for Notre Dame next year. Although solicited by several colleges and universities, the fighting Irish made such a great impression on Corey that he decided to commit after visiting the school on its Junior Day.
Robinson gave insight into his beginnings with football during a recent interview with ESPN. Corey said, “Originally, I was having fun with my friends. It [football] was a sport I grew to love. Every year, I started loving it more, and if something came out of it, great. I put my mind to football, and it was kind of in the back of mind. I always thought if something big happened, cool. I’ll be honest, I never really expected all of this.”
Since deciding to play football Corey has scored 10 touchdowns and completed 42 passes. The young athlete is son of NBA Hall of Famer David Robinson.
