Designer Rachel Roy and daughter Ava,12, attended a special screening of “Bully,” hosted by The Weinstein Company and Bing, on Sunday March 11, 2012. The event was held at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York.
Rachel recently blogged about motherhood and the principles she follows when rearing her two children. She was sure to place emphasis on the simple things in life saying, “THE LITTLE MOMENTS remind us of what is important about life. They mean as much if not more as the big ones. The beach has always been our oasis as it brings us joy and the utmost peace. My girls and I collect seashells but it only counts if we do the work of finding them ourselves. I have a fear of open water so each shell I find is a triumph and my girls cannot only watch me conquer a fear, but be a part of the process as they usually find the best ones, which we save and display in the house. It brings us together as a unit in a matter of seconds.”
When asked about her goals as a fashion designer by BET Roy said, “At the end of the day, I want to create collections that, although I am inspired by very creative women, I want my customer to walk away with a silhouette that she doesn’t even know what collection it comes from. That it just lasts in her wardrobe and makes her feel strong and confident and hopefully happy.”
Rachel is the proud mother of both Ava and Tallulah,3.
