The celebrity mom and her tween give the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/12\/01\/nyregion\/how-mashonda-tifrere-art-and-hip-hop-maven-spends-her-sundays.html\"><em>New York Times<\/em><\/a> an inside look at their ordinary Sundays.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We wake up kind of late on Sundays,&#8221; Mashonda explains. &#8220;I\u2019ll get up at around 9:30. Kasseem will sleep until 10. Then we get up and we walk the High Line. We both really love the High Line. It\u2019s so peaceful up there, you kind of forget you\u2019re in New York City. Sometimes we head downtown to the meatpacking district and have breakfast at Serafina. Or we\u2019ll go to the Standard Grill. He keeps it simple \u2014 he\u2019s a pancake guy. Myself, I\u2019m going to get lobster hash, like lobster benedict. I\u2019ll also have my Sunday Bellini.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bckonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Tifrere1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-227571\" src=\"https:\/\/bckonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Tifrere1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bckonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Tifrere1.jpg 675w, https:\/\/bckonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Tifrere1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/bckonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Tifrere1-600x400.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 675px) 100vw, 675px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The weekends are also a great time to discover new art. &#8220;Kasseem knows my business is art, so he\u2019ll accompany me to check out the galleries on Sundays,&#8221; Mashonda says. &#8220;We head down to the Village. I know a lot of the gallery owners in the area, like we\u2019re very close to the Martin Lawrence Galleries family. My son and I both love it there because they have a lot of artists that are superanimated.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tifrere goes on to tells media, &#8220;I like to take him places where he can relate to the art. On the way home, we\u2019ll look at street art. Kasseem loves it, and there\u2019s a ton of it down in the Village, so we\u2019ll spend some time checking that out before we go home.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Once home, the focus turns to dinner and the week ahead. &#8220;Dinner usually begins around 7, and his bedtime is 9 o\u2019clock, so I let him indulge in a little TV or whatever he wants to do after we eat,&#8221; Tifrere says. &#8220;Once he\u2019s off to bed, I have to get out the laptop and get started on the week ahead. I get out my folders and get back into my conversations with artists all over the world. I probably shut everything down by midnight, so I can get a solid six hours sleep before Monday. But I definitely have my little glass of wine on Sunday nights. That helps me burn the midnight oil.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Kaseem is Mashonda Tifrere&#8217;s only son with her ex-husband, Swizz Beatz.
