Hold on! It turns out that David Otunga did not gain primary custody of his and ex-fiancee Jennifer Hudson’s son as previously reported.
Sources close to Hudson tell TMZ that the singer’s decision to voluntarily lift her protective order was solely in the best interest of her son, David Otunga Jr. According to the celebrity news source,
“She never accused Otunga of physically threatening their child. As we reported, Otunga’s been removed from their home, and as a result, we’re told Jennifer’s satisfied as the emotional risk to their son is no longer present.
As for who’s been the child’s primary caregiver — our Jennifer sources say she’s always made mothering her top priority, even while working to support the family.”
It was previously reported that David Otunga gained primary custody of little David. The general public assumed that J-Hud gave her ex-fiance greater parental rights because of her gig with The Voice: UK that requires her to travel between Los Angeles and London frequently.
News of Jennifer Hudson and David Otunga’s separation spread a few weeks back after she accused him of having an emotional blow-up in front of their son. Otunga’s lawyer denied such claims and told media that the celebrity father looked forward to his day in court.
