Disclaimer: The following story is fictional and wasn’t actually written by Leila Roker.
As told by Leila Roker:
First let me start off by saying that i am not a teenager. I am actually eleven years old, but i will be turning twelve next month. My brother Nicholas is only eight years old. Anyway, so we’re not teenagers, but we definitely lived the “teenage dream” this past summer in August(August 27th to be exact). That’s the day that singer Katy Perry performed at my dad’s job. Let’s back up a little bit.
My dad is Today’s show weatherman Al Roker and my mom is ABC journalist Deborah Roberts. OK, so back to the story.
So my dad invited my brother and I to see Katy’s performance and boy was it a performance! Katy sang three of her hottest hits: Teenage Dream, California Gurls, and I Kissed A Girl, but her performance for Teenage Dreams captured my attention because i kept wondering, “What does a teenager’s dream look like?” Apparently, a teenager’s dream is made out of candy and lollipops or something.
I really don’t know what that’s all about, but i do know one thing: her performance was definitely something out of a dream. My brother’s face expression is priceless. Isn’t it?
I’m going to have to give that performance a side eye, but I love you anyway, Katy!
