SNOOP’S YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE: HELPING TO KEEP KIDS OFF THE STREETS

snoop-dogg-youth-football-leagueNearly eight years ago, rapper Snoop Dogg was inspired by his oldest son Corde to start a youth football league.

“My oldest son was 8 years old—and now he’s 16, so 8 years ago—and he wanted to play football. I was just a father on the sidelines watching, and I saw some things I didn’t like, that I could help with. So I asked the coach, could I assist, and I became an assistant coach. From there, the next year I went on to coach my sons’ team myself. And then from there it grew, and I said, you know what, I want to start my own league.”

Now eight years later, Snoop’ssnoop South Central Los Angeles-based youth football league is now expanding to Chicago.

About Snoop’s Football League:

Snoop’s Youth Football League is “dedicated to the inner city, to save lives, to help kids, and just to give back in general. And we’ve be running for 6 years now, we have over 3500 kids in our leagues. We have our first batch of kids in college this year, and we have 4 kids who are at division one schools playing college football—I’m just so proud of my league right now,” says the rapper(Source)
