Singer Toni Braxton has been advised by her doctors not to have any more kids-because a pregnancy could affect her heart condition.
She says, “I’ve been advised not to have any more children for medical reasons, so that’s it – the shop has closed, even though I would have loved a daughter. But I’m stronger now, I pretty much lead a healthy, normal life.”
In 2008, Toni was hospitalized due to a condition of her heart called microvascular angina, a condition which occurs when blood flow is restricted to the heart muscle.
Angina is the chest pain that occurs when blood flow is restricted to the heart muscle. Braxton’s condition is attributed to blockage in the small arteries. Also known as Cardiac Syndrome X,the condition affects more women than men. With medication and regular exercise,” Toni’s prognosis is excellent,” says Braxton’s cardiologist, Dr. Jay Schapira of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Braxton has two sons Denim and Diezel with her estranged husband Keri Lewis.
