Celebrity child support is a hot topic these days. This week alone, rapper Nas was ordered to pay his estranged wife Kelis $299,015.50 in back spousal and child support;singer Bobby Brown is delinquent in child support and so on and so forth.
A blogger for ThanIndian.com writes:
“In fact, Bobby Brown is not the only one. His case brings to light the plight of many such celebrities, who are forced by the court to cough up money in the name of ward support, no matter what their own financial condition. The list seems to be increasing these days, with scores of celebrities getting divorced, and one of the parents asking for monetary support for their children. All that sounds pretty good, but the irony is that it is always the man who ends up paying child support, and then too, in many cases, when the mothers are absolutely employable and at times earning more than the father.”
Do you agree? Is the child support system unfair to men?
